Associate, SE Asia Program, RMI
Paula Valencia is an Associate in RMI’s Southeast Asia Program which focuses on decarbonizing power systems in the region while promoting the use of more renewable energy sources. She is currently leading the organization’s work in Climate Resilience Cities in the Philippines that aims to improve the adaptive and resilience capacities of six identified cities. RMI’s role in the Climate Resilience Cities project is to implement a pilot energy project that could be scaled while providing the biggest impact to the local stakeholders. She also leads the coordination for the offshore wind market research project in partnership with Clime Cap and Aboitiz. Prior to joining RMI, she was an energy transition analyst at the Manila-based international organization Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities. She also serves as a consultant for New Energy Nexus, a California-based organization supporting startups towards the common goal of providing 100% energy for 100% of the population.
