Prof. Emeritus Tan Sri Dr. Zakri Abdul Hamid

Prof Zakri Abdul Hamid is currently the Chairman of Atri Advisory and spearheading the Campaign for Nature 30x30 initiative in the ASEAN region as its Ambassador and Science Advisor. He is currently the Pro-Chancellor of Multimedia University and that of Universiti Perguruan Sultan Idris in Malaysia, Chairman for Business Council for Sustainable Development Malaysia, as well as the Chairman for INGSA Science Advice Network for the ASEAN Region. Recently, he has been re-appointed as the Joint-Chairmen of the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT). Previously he held the post of Science Adviser to the Prime Minister of Malaysia and also former Director of the Institute of Advanced Studies, United Nations University. He is the founding Chair of the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) and former member of the UN Secretary-General’s Scientific Advisory Board. He was also a member of the Scientific Advisory Board to the President of the Islamic Development Bank. Presently, he is the Vice-Chair of the UN Technology Bank for Least Developed Countries.
